Nissin Foods (USA) Co., Inc. is a branch of Nissin Foods Holdings Co., Ltd., a worldwide producer and seller of convenience food, instant noodles, and other food products in a diversified portfolio of well-known, highly rated brands.
With many offices across the U.S., the company’s finance and operations teams worked with outdated, expensive, and fragmented analytics solutions. This complicated accurate and timely financial scoring, as well as sales forecasting.
To address these challenges, C-level decision-makers wanted to switch to a tool that would consolidate all financial and operational data, generate interactive dashboards, and provide up-to-date, reliable data.
Having successfully worked with EffectiveSoft on previous projects, they returned to us to build this solution.

How we removed the barriers
After a thorough review of the existing data workflow, the client’s digital assets, and their requirements, our engineers proposed transitioning to Microsoft Power BI. This tool provided a low total cost of ownership (TCO) and served as a centralized system for data analysis. In addition, Power BI shares some visual similarities with Excel, which made it easier for employees to adopt the tool.
We then:
- Improved ETL processes
- Optimized data sources and storage
- Created multiple data models that structure and connect data from different sources
- Developed custom reports with the information and layout required by the client
- Set up workspaces, dashboards, and apps to group reports and distribute them to users
- Established role-based access for secure reporting and analysis
- Created Power BI apps to distribute and share reports and dashboards
- Organized reporting process
The result was a centralized environment delivering accurate, real-time data. Power BI enables company leaders to run financial scoring based on unified records and build sales forecasts that rely on previous trends and current indicators.
