Recently, seven of our top-tier software engineers—Eugene Kileiko, Roman Bulavsky, Ivan Zaskevich, Andrei Charopka, Ilya Kremko, Anton Pazharytski, and Ilya Maksimenko—obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate certification. We spoke with these team members to find out what inspired them to seek this recognition, the challenges they faced during the certification process, and the business value this achievement brings to EffectiveSoft’s clients from a practical perspective.
Motivation behind pursuing the designation
The main motivation to pursue the Azure AI Engineer Associate certification was our engineers’ interest in AI technology and its evolution.
Eugene Kileiko pointed out his strong desire to expand his existing AI knowledge and help EffectiveSoft’s clients address complex business problems:
“I’ve always been passionate about using AI to solve complex business challenges, and this certification was an excellent opportunity to formalize and expand my knowledge. My motivation also came from a desire to provide tangible value to our clients by bringing them to the leading edge of AI.”
Roman Bulavsky underscored the importance of certification in acquiring and honing hands-on AI skills:
“I’m deeply interested in where our industry is heading and what technologies are emerging. Specifically regarding AI, I felt I lacked practical experience. I wanted to understand how and in which scenarios I could use the latest ML models, so getting a Microsoft certificate seemed like a good way to grasp the immensity of the technology.”
Overcoming the challenges of the certification exam
Any certification exam is a challenging experience that requires thorough preparation and dedicated study. All of our recently certified software engineers managed to effectively balance exam preparation with their existing work commitments while some of them even participated in EffectiveSoft’s GenAI hackathon!
Here’s how Ivan Zaskevich recalled this experience:
“The biggest challenge for me was juggling exam preparation with daily work responsibilities and participation in the company’s hackathon. However, without struggle, there’s no progress. In the end, I was thrilled with the successful results of my undertakings.”
For Andrei Charopka, the certification process was already familiar:
“To be honest, I didn’t face any significant challenges during the certification journey. Balancing studies with ongoing project work was already part of my experience, so the certification process went smoothly. Keeping up with Azure’s constantly evolving AI services may have been the most difficult part.”
